Abstract: We study an asymptotic behavior of the sum $\sum\limits_{n\le x}\frac{\D \tau(n)}{\D \tau(n+a)}$. Here $\tau(n)$ denotes the number of divisors of $n$ and $a\ge 1$ is a fixed integer.
