Determine the spin-parity of the approximately 2 GeV cascade states

Determine the spin-parity quantum numbers of the doubly strange baryons Xi(1950) and Xi(2030), whose properties remain experimentally unresolved.

Background

The coupled-channel analysis generates a higher-energy pole between approximately 1960 and 2090 MeV. The authors compare this region with the experimentally listed Xi(1950) and Xi(2030) states, but emphasize that the available invariant-mass data have large uncertainties and that the quantum numbers of these states have not been determined. Establishing their spin-parity is therefore necessary for identifying the higher-energy poles and clarifying the spectrum of excited doubly strange baryons.

From the experimental side, the situation in this energy region is not very clear. The particle data group lists two cascades: $\Xi(1950)$ and $\Xi(2030)$ but spin-parity of both states are still not established.
