Serverless Computing for HTAP Workloads

Determine how to utilize serverless computing to efficiently handle hybrid transactional and analytical processing workloads, including workload orchestration, resource management, and data synchronization in serverless environments.

Background

Serverless computing is increasingly prevalent for cloud data systems, but its suitability and design patterns for HTAP workloads remain unclear. HTAP requires careful orchestration of OLTP and OLAP tasks, resource scheduling, and freshness guarantees.

The authors explicitly state that leveraging serverless computing for HTAP workloads is still an open problem.

Third, as serverless computing is becoming prevalent, it is still an open problem to utilize serverless computing to handle the HTAP workloads.
