Generalization of RouteLLM across foundation-model families

Determine whether RouteLLM achieves comparable improvements when adapted to foundation models from model families other than Llama-3.1-8B-Instruct.

Background

The paper implements and evaluates RouteLLM using Llama-3.1-8B-Instruct as its base model, although it describes the overall design as model-agnostic. The current experiments therefore do not establish whether the reported gains depend on the particular foundation model selected.

The unresolved problem is to evaluate RouteLLM with additional foundation models and determine whether routing-domain adaptation produces comparable improvements across model families.
