Rigorous analysis of unstable-eigenvalue selection

Establish a rigorous analysis of how the selected unstable eigenvalue, including its real and imaginary components, affects attack effectiveness and determine principled criteria for selecting that eigenvalue in the malicious inverter-control framework.

Background

The paper uses an intuition-based procedure for selecting the unstable eigenvalue introduced by the attack. Numerical results suggest that choosing an imaginary component near an existing oscillatory mode can increase attack effectiveness, while the real component creates a trade-off between instability growth rate and relative target participation. A rigorous characterization of this selection process is explicitly left unresolved.
