Evaluate mailbox-synchronization reduction under saturation

Quantify the reduction in synchronization traffic on the memory bus produced by eliminating mailbox operations on the synchronous delivery path.

Background

The synchronous fast path removes the enqueue and dequeue operations required by asynchronous actor delivery. The paper analytically identifies the resulting removal of synchronization traffic but does not measure its effect on the memory bus. Establishing this reduction would provide a direct hardware-level characterization of one of fast's claimed performance benefits.

References

Removing the mailbox operations removes their synchronization traffic on the memory bus; quantifying that reduction requires measurement and is left to future work.
