Scalability of PEF to full thrombectomy and broader clinical variation

Evaluate whether the Progressive Experience Fusion framework can scale to full mechanical-thrombectomy navigation and additional clinical variations, including highly tortuous vessels.

Background

The experiments apply PEF to five navigation subtasks covering the first stage of mechanical thrombectomy and to multiple vascular anatomies. The complete intervention is multi-device and multi-stage, and clinically relevant anatomical variation may be substantially greater than that represented in the evaluated datasets.

The authors explicitly identify evaluation on full mechanical-thrombectomy navigation and additional variations such as highly tortuous vessels as unresolved extensions of the demonstrated framework.

While PEF successfully scales to five varying navigation tasks in this study, further work is needed to evaluate its scalability to full MT navigation and additional clinical variations (e.g., highly tortuous vessels).
