Reliable orbital solutions for HD 198174 and HD 208433

Determine reliable spectroscopic orbital solutions for the SB2 candidates HD 198174 and HD 208433 using radial-velocity measurements or complementary data, since the current Southern African Large Telescope High Resolution Spectrograph observations are insufficient to derive such orbits.

Background

The study followed up six SB2 candidates identified from FEROS spectroscopy, obtaining new SALT/HRS spectra. For four systems, orbital solutions were derived (including one hierarchical triple), but for HD 198174 and HD 208433 the available data did not yield orbits.

Within the main text, the authors further note that for HD 198174 their radial velocities are inconsistent with the Gaia DR3 SB1 orbit and suggest that improved solutions may come with future Gaia releases, while for HD 208433 they did not detect significant variability and propose it may be a chance alignment. Nevertheless, in both cases no reliable orbital solution could be derived from the present data.

For two additional SB2 candidates (HD 198174 and HD 208433), our new observations do not allow us to derive reliable orbital solutions.
