Determine the extent of GNSS dependence in prior classical gravity-aided navigation demonstrations

Determine the extent to which previously reported gravity-aided navigation demonstrations using classical gravimeters relied on GNSS corrections within their measurement and processing chains.

Background

The paper reviews earlier gravity-aided navigation demonstrations involving classical gravimeters and notes that the available publications do not consistently document whether GNSS-derived information entered the gravimetry, inertial-navigation, or Eötvös-correction pipelines.

This unresolved provenance matters because the paper’s principal methodological distinction is an end-to-end GNSS-independent chain. Establishing the GNSS dependence of earlier demonstrations would clarify the extent to which their reported navigation performance is comparable with the fully GNSS-free demonstration presented here.
