Experimental validation of impedance-aware optimized pulse patterns

Conduct experimental validation of impedance-aware optimized pulse patterns for reconfigurable battery systems using a hardware demonstrator, in order to verify the simulation-based current-quality and switching-performance results.

Background

The study evaluates impedance-aware optimized pulse patterns (IA-OPP) entirely through exact analytical evaluation of a switched RL plant. The reference system includes configuration-dependent source resistance, and the reported advantages over classical optimized pulse patterns, nearest-level modulation, and carrier-based PWM are therefore simulation-based.

The paper explicitly identifies measurements on a hardware demonstrator as unresolved. Such validation would test the method under nonideal switching transitions, dead times, cell-impedance behavior, communication constraints, and other hardware effects not represented in the analytical model.

References

The study is simulation-based throughout; all quantitative claims rest on an exact analytical evaluation of the switched RL plant rather than on time-stepping simulation, and experimental validation remains future work (Section~\ref{sec:conclusion}).
