Background

Ornate Large Extremophilic (OLE) RNA is a bacterial RNA associated with metal-ion homeostasis and cellular adaptation. The reviewed cryo-EM studies established its homodimeric architecture and identified exposed binding sites for the protein partners OapA and OapC, but they did not resolve how OLE RNA performs its biological function. The paper therefore identifies the precise molecular mechanism of OLE RNA as unresolved.
