Value of Archetype Cards for Less Data-Comfortable Populations

Investigate whether the archetype-card representation of relational contexts with similar demonstrated-value profiles is more valuable for populations that are less comfortable with data-driven interfaces than the technically oriented participants studied.

Background

Value Faces presents inferred profiles through quantitative visualizations, evidence views, and archetype cards. Participants in the study engaged more with value scores and supporting evidence than with the aggregated archetypes, although the authors suggest that archetypes might be particularly useful for people less comfortable with quantitative data. This population-level benefit remains unresolved.

The archetypes could be more valuable for populations less comfortable with data-driven interfaces, which we leave as a question for future work.
