A novel class of explicit energy-preserving splitting methods for charged-particle dynamics

Abstract: In this letter, based on the exponential scalar auxiliary variable technology, we propose and study a new class of explicit energy-preserving splitting methods for solving the charged-particle dynamics. The energy-preserving property of these methods is rigorously analysed. We also provide the error estimates for the new methods. Numerical computations are presented, which confirm the effectiveness and superiority of these novel methods in comparison with the standard scalar auxiliary variable approach.
