Diffusion Classifier

The SNIM/NoOp pipeline comprises:

  • Learning a global noise tensor ϵg\epsilon_g for frequency matching.
  • Training a meta-network UϕU_\phi (lightweight U-Net, 6\approx6–$8$M parameters) to generate per-image Δϵ\Delta\epsilon for spatial adaptation.

Diffusion Classifier

In SNIM/NoOp, frequency and spatial matching boost classification independently by $4$–$5$% and $3$–$4$%, respectively, with joint optimization yielding $6$–$7$%. The learned noise exhibits spectral adaptation by dataset (e.g., shifts to low-frequency for CIFAR-10, high-frequency for DTD), and optimized ϵ\epsilon^* reduces CLIP similarity by 5–10%, showing effective degradation of class-relevant content.

SNIM is orthogonal to prompt tuning, providing additive benefits when combined. Transfer of learned ϵg\epsilon_g and UϕU_\phi from 4-shot ImageNet to other datasets achieves +2.9% absolute improvement, indicating cross-dataset portability (Wang et al., 15 Aug 2025).
