Determine the normalization and detailed asymptotics of the topological baryon form factor

Determine the nonperturbative normalization, endpoint logarithms, and onset scale of the perturbative contribution to the timelike topological baryon form factor entering ALP–baryon couplings.

Background

The paper introduces a phenomenological continuation of the low-energy ALP–baryon couplings to the few-GeV region using asymptotic hard-scattering scaling. For the topological form factor associated with the gluonic operator, the authors adapt a perturbative three-valence-quark calculation, but the resulting argument establishes only the asymptotic power of the strong coupling and momentum transfer.

The normalization, possible endpoint-logarithmic effects, and the scale at which the asymptotic contribution becomes dominant remain unspecified. These quantities directly affect predictions for ALP decays into baryon–antibaryon pairs and therefore require further nonperturbative or perturbative investigation.

This calculation motivates the hard scaling in Eq. (IV.20), but still does not determine its normalisation, endpoint logarithms, or the scale at which this contribution becomes dominant.
