Evaluate whether depositing all abstracts in all languages improves language reporting

Evaluate whether depositing all available abstracts for each article, in all languages, to Crossref improves the accuracy and completeness of language reporting across Crossref metadata and downstream discovery systems.

Background

The authors note that Crossref supports multiple abstracts with language attributes via the XML API, but the publicly used REST API typically exposes only the first listed abstract, often English. This limitation may obscure multilingual metadata downstream.

Given widespread missingness of article-level language attributes and abstract metadata, the authors explicitly ask whether providing all abstracts in all languages would broadly improve language reporting.
