Normality preservation by the polishing operation

Determine whether the class-polishing transformation used to enforce uniformity of x-transitions in the construction preserves the normal form property of parity automata.

Background

The construction employs a ‘polishing’ step to enforce structural uniformity inside equivalence classes. For iteration without restarts, preservation of the automaton’s normal form would be very useful. The authors suspect it holds but lack a proof.

In fact, we believe that the "polishing operation" does preserve "normality", but we have not been able to prove it.
