Measure the scintillation bandwidth of PSR J0051−75

Obtain a reliable measurement of the scintillation bandwidth of PSR J0051−75 using observations that resolve its expected diffractive scintillation structure.

Background

PSR J0051−75 has a low dispersion measure and clearly visible scintillation features. However, the predicted scintillation bandwidth is comparable to the effective frequency resolution of the Parkes Multibeam observations, so the diffractive scintles are only marginally resolved. The paper therefore leaves the scintillation bandwidth unresolved.

References

However, we could not reliably measure the scintillation bandwidth from the dynamic spectrum.
