Implement asymptotic‑freedom–compatible extensions for bottom‑up holographic QCD

Develop and analyse extensions of the (3+1)d NJL‑based AdS5/CFT4 construction that incorporate ultraviolet asymptotic freedom in the dual of QCD, such as (i) adding Thirring‑type interactions to generate an emergent non‑Abelian gauge field, (ii) starting directly from QCD with gauge‑invariant composites including Wilson lines to derive the AdS5×S5‑like structure, or (iii) introducing a momentum‑dependent Wilsonian coupling G(p) to encode the QCD running coupling in the emergent UV geometry.

Background

The NJL4‑based AdS5/CFT4 construction reproduces key IR features of QCD—chiral symmetry breaking, Regge trajectories, and the deconfinement transition—but lacks asymptotic freedom because the four‑fermion coupling is momentum‑independent.

The authors outline three concrete routes to incorporate UV running and/or start from QCD itself, and explicitly defer their development to future work.

All three directions are natural extensions of the present construction and are left for future work.
