Identify any surviving remnant star associated with Teleios

Identify whether a surviving remnant star (e.g., a white dwarf or a red giant indicative of single-degenerate Type Ia scenarios) exists near the geometric center of Teleios (G305.4–2.2) using Gaia DR3 astrometry, photometry, and proper-motion vectors, and determine its properties to constrain the supernova explosion type.

Background

A search in Gaia DR3 for off-main-sequence candidates (white dwarfs and red giants) near Teleios’s geometric center found one white dwarf candidate and several giant-branch candidates, but the kinematics and parallaxes did not support an association.

Confirming or excluding a surviving remnant star would help distinguish among explosion scenarios (e.g., Type Ia single-degenerate vs. double-degenerate vs. Iax) and refine distance and age estimates.

References

We conclude that we could not find any suitable white dwarf or red giant candidates as a remnant star from the Teleios original explosion as SN.
