Find signatures of finite multiply connected manifolds in large-scale structure

Identify observable signatures of finite multiply connected manifolds in the distribution of large structures in the Universe.

Background

The study develops a CMB temperature-gradient method for detecting the size and orientation of a cubic three-torus. The authors note that other finite multiply connected spaces, including the Poincare dodecahedral space and the Picard manifold, can also reproduce aspects of the observed CMB correlation function. They therefore leave unresolved whether distinctive signatures of finite topology can be detected in the distribution of cosmic large-scale structures.

References

Signatures of finite multiply connected manifolds like the $3-$torus remain to be found in the distribution of large structures of the Universe.
