Assess host-ranking performance across injected populations and catalog completeness

Investigate how different injected compact-binary populations and degrees of galaxy-catalog completeness affect the true-host ranking statistics of the hierarchical gravitational-wave–galaxy inference framework.

Background

The supplemental analysis defines a fractional true-host rank and its cumulative distribution to test whether inferred galaxy rankings outperform random association. The diagnostic is evaluated primarily for complete catalogs, where the true host is known for every simulated event.

The authors explicitly leave unresolved how this ranking statistic changes when the injected source populations or catalog completeness are varied. Resolving this would determine the robustness and generality of the reported host-identification performance beyond the benchmark simulations.
