Characterize pipeline completeness across host brightness

Characterize the completeness of a blind white-dwarf transit-search pipeline as a function of host brightness using realistic simulated or Roman light curves.

Background

The injection-recovery validation uses a single relatively bright white-dwarf host with JAB=20J_{\rm AB}=20 and varies only orbital period and planet radius. Consequently, it tests the ephemeris-search penalty but does not quantify how photon noise and source blending affect recovery for fainter hosts, which dominate the synthetic Galactic Bulge Time Domain Survey population. A brightness-dependent completeness characterization is needed to validate the predicted yield more fully.

References

Fainter hosts would lower both the detection and recovery fraction, but we expect them to follow the same trend as shown in Figure~\ref{fig:injection_recovery}. A full characterization of pipeline completeness as a function of host brightness is left to future work.
