Total width of the neutral D*0 meson

Determine the total decay width of the neutral $D^{*0}$ meson, which is required to extract its radiative partial width and the coupling constant $g_{D^{*0}D^0\\gamma}$.

Background

The radiative coupling of the charged charmed meson is extracted directly from the measured width of D+D+γD^{*+}\to D^+\gamma. For the neutral D0D^{*0} meson, the total width is not experimentally established. The paper therefore estimates the strong partial width using isospin symmetry and combines it with the measured ratio of the neutral meson’s strong and radiative decay modes to infer the radiative partial width and the coupling gD0D0γg_{D^{*0}D^0\gamma}. A direct determination of the total D0D^{*0} width would remove this indirect input from the radiative-decay analysis.
