Determine the physical axion-sector branch compatible with pseudoscalar glueball observables

Determine which of the infrared-decaying and infrared-growing axion-sector solutions of the BCE-inspired Einstein–scalar–axion reconstruction represents the physical pseudoscalar glueball response, since both branches reproduce the fitted pseudoscalar masses and positivity of the axion kinetic function does not select between them.

Background

At fixed b_a=3, the reconstructed axion kinetic function admits both an infrared-decaying reference branch and infrared-growing solutions. The fitted pseudoscalar masses do not resolve this discrete ambiguity: the alternative branch reproduces the same two masses while yielding different radii and D-terms.

The paper proposes that a measurement of the pseudoscalar tensor-source form factor A_a could distinguish the branches before the trace and D-term are used to test the cubic coupling assignment. Thus the physical branch remains unresolved by the calibration data and requires additional pseudoscalar gravitational-form-factor information.

References

The same two pseudoscalar masses also admit infrared-growing solutions; positivity of $Z$ alone does not select the branch.
