Cross-lingual generalization of parametric individualization

Determine whether parametric individualization generalizes to languages other than German and to users modeled in the language of their original engagement.

Background

The study evaluates German-language knowledge items and constructs individual text corpora primarily from German running text; English-language material is machine-translated into German before training. Consequently, the reported evidence does not establish whether the DoRA-based parametric individualization procedure transfers across languages or whether modeling users in the language in which they originally engaged with online content produces comparable results.

Translation quality therefore shapes part of the training signal, and it remains open whether parametric individualization generalizes to other languages or to users modeled in the language of their original engagement.

Also, it remains unclear whether the approach generalizes to other languages or to multilingual users whose search histories span multiple languages.
