Background

The STAND-MCP contains mechanically moving transmission components, including a force-responsive slider, pulley-inspired wire routing, springs, and wire interfaces. Although short experimental demonstrations establish repeatable transmission behavior, the paper does not establish how these components perform over extended use or under conditions that may cause wear and degradation.
