Analytical modeling of node turnover in adaptive social networks
Develop tractable analytical models of adaptive networks that incorporate node turnover (i.e., entry and exit of users) in addition to link-weight evolution, going beyond agent-based simulations, in order to capture polarization and diffusion dynamics when network structure and population change co-occur on similar timescales.

Capturing this within tractable analytical models, beyond agent-based simulations, remains a key open challenge.
