Theoretical Perspectives on Flavour Physics

Published 24 Sep 2026 in hep-ph and hep-ex | (2609.29314v1)

Abstract: Flavour physics and CP violation play a key role for the testing of the Standard Model and search for New Physics at the high-precision frontier. After a compact discussion of the current status of (quark)-flavour physics, I will illustrate theoretical prospects for benchmark processes in the sector of decays of B mesons, ranging from precision determinations of the CP-violating phases of neutral B-meson mixing over non-leptonic decays governed by penguin topologies and channels arising only from tree diagrams to rare loop-induced decays into final states with leptons. Exciting opportunities for theorists and experimentalists arise in the era of the HL-LHC and Belle II and beyond at the FCC-ee.
