The Problem of Stochastic System Prediction in Gait Biomechanics Applications
Abstract: This paper analyzes the stochastic dynamics of a two-link pendulum that models lower limb segments (the thigh and shank) during the swing phase of the gait cycle. We describe the model using a system of non-linear Ito stochastic differential equations in a four-dimensional phase space under both external and internal random perturbations. We perform a spectral analysis of the discrete Kolmogorov operator, compute the stationary invariant measure, and estimate diffusion parameters using Neural Stochastic Differential Equations (Neural SDEs).
