Exciton-polariton condensates in epsilon-near-zero cavities
Abstract: We propose an epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) artificial cavity that can enhance light-matter coupling around the ENZ frequency and theoretically show the possibility of exciton-polariton condensation in the suggested platform. By using a rate equation model based on the driven-dissipative reservoir approach, we calculate the pump threshold for condensation and then compare the suggested platform's advantages/disadvantages with distributed Bragg reflector cavities. We also discuss the validity of the mean field theory within our model.
