Eggers decomposition of polar curves in positive characteristic

Abstract: Let $f$ be a power series in two variables with coefficients in an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. We identify a necessary and sufficient condition, read from the Eggers-Wall tree of $f$, for $\frac{\partial f}{\partial y}$ to admit Eggers decomposition.
