Comparison of symbolic and ordinary powers of parity binomial edge ideals

Published 6 Nov 2023 in math.AC and math.CO | (2311.03155v1)

Abstract: In this paper, we investigate when symbolic and ordinary powers of the parity binomial edge ideal of a graph fail to be equal. It turns out that if I<em>G\mathcal{I}<em>{G} is the parity binomial edge ideal of a graph GG, then in each of the following cases the symbolic power I</em>G(t)\mathcal{I}</em>{G}{(t)} and the ordinary power IGt\mathcal{I}_{G}t are not equal for some tt: (i) the clique number of GG is greater than 3; (ii) GG has a net; or (iii) GG has a PT as an induced subgraph.
