Gaussian beam quantum radar protocol
Abstract: We present an entangled quantum radar protocol. It consists in scanning the sky with a thin Gaussian beam and measuring the travel time of the radiation reflected from the target, as in conventional radars. Here the Gaussian beam is composed of $N$ photons entangled in the frequency degrees of freedom. We show that this provides a $\sqrt{N}$ quantum enhancement over the unentangled case, as is usual in quantum metrology.
