Fluorescence Suppressor Gas Electron Multiplier (FS-GEM)

Abstract: A method is proposed to dump the spurious signals induced by fluorescence of the electrodes in gaseous detectors under strong X-Ray irradiation, introducing a special fluorescence suppressor electrode between the sensitive and the amplifying parts of the detector.
