Final-State Condition And Dissipative Quantum Mechanics

Published 8 Mar 2021 in hep-th and gr-qc | (2103.04732v1)

Abstract: Unitarity demands that the black-hole final state (what remains inside the event horizon at complete evaporation) must be unique. Assuming a UV theory with infinitely many fields, we propose that the uniqueness of the final state can be achieved via a mechanism analogous to the quantum-mechanical description of dissipation.
