Tidal love number of a static spherically symmetric anisotropic compact star

Published 21 Dec 2020 in gr-qc | (2012.11520v2)

Abstract: Tidal deformability of a coalescing neutron star subjected to an external tidal field plays an important role in our probe for the structure and properties of compact stars. In particular, the tidal love number provides valuable information about the external gravitational field responsible for deforming the star. In this article, we compute the tidal love number of a particular class of anisotropic stars and analyze the impacts of anisotropy and compactness on the tidal love number.
