Thermomechanical bistability of phase-transition oscillators driven by near-field heat exchange
Abstract: Systems with multistable equilibrium states are of tremendous importance in information science to conceive logic gates. Here we predict that simple phase-transition oscillators driven by near-field heat exchanges have a bistable thermomechanical behavior around their critical temperature, opening so the way to a possible boolean treatment of information from heat flux at microscale.
