Holography of negative energy states
Abstract: Quantum states with negative energy densities have been long known to exist in quantum field theories. We explore the structure of such states for holographic theories using quantum information theory tools and show how certain negative energy states are naturally captured by the thermodynamics of black holes with hyperbolic horizon at zero temperature, suggesting that they provide a dual description of those states. Our results give a satisfying field theory understanding of the distinct thermodynamics of such black holes.
