Dark SU(2) Antecedents of the U(1) Higgs Model

Abstract: The original spontaneously broken U(1) gauge model with one complex Higgs scalar field has been known in recent years as a possible prototype dark-matter model. Its antecedents in the context of SU(2) are discussed. Three specific examples are described, with one dubbed "quantum scotodynamics".
