Inductive tools for connected ribbon graphs, delta-matroids and multimatroids

Abstract: We prove a splitter theorem for tight multimatroids, generalizing the corresponding result for matroids, obtained independently by Brylawski and Seymour. Further corollaries give splitter theorems for delta-matroids and ribbon graphs.
