Amplitude analysis of the χc1ηπ+πχ_{c1} \to ηπ^+π^- decays

Published 8 Oct 2016 in hep-ex | (1610.02479v3)

Abstract: Using 448.0×106448.0 \times 106~ψ(3686)\psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, an amplitude analysis is performed for ψ(3686)γχc1\psi(3686)\to\gamma\chi_{c1}, χc1ηπ+π\chi_{c1}\to\eta\pi+\pi- decays. The most dominant two-body structure observed is a0(980)±πa_0(980){\pm}\pi{\mp}; a0(980)±ηπ±a_0(980){\pm}\to\eta\pi{\pm}. The a0(980)a_0(980) line shape is modeled using a dispersion relation, and a significant non-zero a0(980)a_0(980) coupling to the ηπ\eta{\prime}\pi channel is measured. We observe χc1a2(1700)π\chi_{c1}\to a_2(1700)\pi production for the first time, with a significance larger than 17σ\sigma. The production of mesons with exotic quantum numbers, JPC=1+J{PC}=1{-+}, is investigated, and upper limits for the branching fractions χc1π1(1400)±π\chi_{c1}\to \pi_1(1400){\pm}\pi{\mp}, χc1π1(1600)±π\chi_{c1}\to \pi_1(1600){\pm}\pi{\mp}, and χc1π1(2015)±π\chi_{c1}\to\pi_1(2015){\pm}\pi{\mp}, with subsequent π1(X)±ηπ±\pi_1(X){\pm} \to \eta\pi{\pm} decay, are determined.
