Verify orthogonality of nanocarrier guard and key strands

Verify that the guard and key strand pairs G1/K1 and G2/K2 are orthogonal, with no unintended cross-hybridization or strand exchange between the two mesoporous-silica-nanoparticle systems.

Background

The blueprint assumes that each guard strand is displaced only by its corresponding key strand, so that nanocarrier N1 responds specifically to biomarker M1 and nanocarrier N2 responds specifically to biomarker M2. The authors have designed G2/K2 to be orthogonal to G1/K1, but this assumption has not yet been verified. Cross-hybridization energies can be assessed computationally before wet-lab testing.

Finally, the orthogonality of the guard and key strand pairs G_{1}/K_{1} and G_{2}/K_{2} is assumed but not yet verified.
