Establish biological-media functionality and biocompatibility

Establish whether the proposed DNA-based nanonetwork functions in biological media and whether its selected components, particularly the mesoporous silica nanocarrier, are biocompatible in cellular environments.

Background

The proposed blueprint is restricted to controlled in vitro conditions and does not demonstrate operation under physiological conditions. The authors identify unresolved questions concerning nuclease activity, ionic conditions, temperature constraints, and the cellular biocompatibility of the selected components. These issues must be addressed before translation toward in situ or in vivo applications.

These remain open questions for future work that builds on the foundation established here.
