Quantify the indirect influence of modest tidal resonances

Determine how much comparatively modest tidal resonances influence subsequent resonances by shifting the orbital phase at which those later resonances are entered.

Background

The resonance jump depends on the orbital phase at resonance crossing. Consequently, a resonance with a small instantaneous or duration-weighted jump may nevertheless alter the phase accumulated before a later, stronger resonance and thereby change the later resonance's effect on the waveform. The paper identifies the importance of this indirect mechanism but does not quantify it.
