Quantify the independent effects of durability-development variables

Quantify the individual contributions of film construction, interfacial preparation, environmental conditioning, and coating-solution preparation to the measured durability of the developed vision-based tactile sensors.

Background

The paper reports that changes in film construction, interfacial preparation, environmental conditioning, and coating-solution preparation were associated with substantial changes in measured durability during sensor development. However, these variables were not investigated independently, preventing attribution of the observed durability improvements to particular factors. A controlled factorial or otherwise isolated study is therefore needed to quantify their separate effects.
