Correlation between bids and urgency in the karma mechanism

Determine whether participants’ bid levels are positively correlated with their urgency values in the karma mechanism for repeated resource allocation, by empirically testing the association between individual bids and realized urgency across rounds.

Background

The authors pre-registered several hypotheses, including one positing that participants’ bids would positively correlate with their urgency. Due to a logging bug affecting losers’ bid data, they were unable to test this hypothesis in the reported experiments, leaving the relationship between bidding behavior and urgency unresolved in their dataset.

References

Unfortunately, due to the bug, hypothesis (5) could not be tested.
