Determine manufacturing and assembly requirements for lunar-surface construction

Determine the manufacturing and assembly requirements for constructing topologically interlocked sintered-regolith lunar habitats on the lunar surface, where many relevant aspects remain unknown.

Background

The proposed habitat is designed to use modular, topologically interlocked blocks fabricated from sintered lunar regolith. The block geometry can be scaled to accommodate the capabilities of fabrication equipment and assembly robots. However, the practical manufacturing and robotic-assembly conditions that will prevail on the lunar surface are not established, and these uncertainties affect the appropriate block size and configuration.

This is particularly important, as many aspects of manufacturing and assembly on the lunar surface are still unknown.
