Background

EnviSmart enforces trust boundaries via audited handoffs that write detailed records for every agent transition. While this improves reliability and traceability, the volume of audit data grows with workflow length, creating a need for principled retention and compression policies.

The authors explicitly defer this design question to future work, indicating an unresolved operational issue in sustaining long-term auditability without unbounded storage growth.
