Identify aerodynamic-interaction parameters from flight data

Identify the parameters of the MuJoCo aerodynamic-interaction disturbance surrogate for the RTK–vision-guided micro-UAV recovery system from flight logs, in order to replace or validate the tractable surrogate against observed carrier–child aerodynamic effects.

Background

The terminal recovery policy is trained and transferred in a MuJoCo environment that represents carrier-induced aerodynamic interaction through a compact disturbance surrogate. The model randomizes disturbance gain and combines it with gust disturbances, but it is not a blade-resolved computational-fluid-dynamics model.

The paper explicitly notes that the surrogate’s parameters have not yet been identified from flight logs. Determining those parameters would enable empirical calibration of the simulated aerodynamic interaction and could improve the fidelity of policy training and evaluation for aerial carrier recovery.

Second, the MuJoCo aerodynamic interaction is a tractable disturbance surrogate rather than blade-resolved CFD, with parameters not yet identified from flight logs.
